Thank you all for coming, and especially thank you all for enjoying it so much. Its really pleasurable (and quite a relief) to see a different race format hitting the button of what people want. At one end there were groups from local running clubs telling me how much they enjoyed it, and then there was the British No 2 ranked woman orienteer taking this in only a few weeks before the World Championships.

During both races the regular orienteers got away in their own race at the front, while the groups from running clubs stuck with their club-mates in order to do the navigation by committee. Somewhere in the middle of the 10k were a large group who I gather should be very grateful to Alison Bird.

The next races are from the Hawker Centre (2nd July) off the Richmond Road and so food and beer will be available afterwards. The races should have easier navigation than on Wimbledon because there are fewer small fiddly paths. The 10k will go through Richmond Park for a short while.

If you enjoyed this one bring some more friends along next time. This is a race format where the more people who are running the more fun will be had by all. If you missed this and are just checking the web-site, the race format of an orienteering course that has the look and feel of a cross-country race seemed to work for those from each background. Just ask those that were there.

See you at the next one
