         A choice of 10km and 6km challenges for runners

 

SOUTH LONDON ORIENTEERS and WAYFARERS (SLOW) invite you to enjoy a series of summer evening trail races. Several checkpoints define the courses which will be run over tracks and trails - the challenge arises from choosing the fastest route between them.

START TIMES: 7.30 pm for 10km and 7.45pm for 6km. Registration from 6.30pm.  Please be ready 10 minutes before the start. Maps on display near registration to allow you to familiarise yourself with the area.  Maps with pre-marked checkpoints (that define the courses) will be distributed during a pre-race briefing five minutes before each start.  NB No compass necessary.

 

ENTRY DETAIL: Series: £7 in advance. Individual events: £3 in advance, £4 entry on the night. Includes detailed map of the area, hire of an electronic 'finger' (as used in adventure racing) to record your arrival at checkpoints and instant results showing your time between checkpoints. Entry limit 200. Please enter in advance by post, using the form below, up to 7 days before each event, or via email or the web site up to 24 hours before. Cheques payable to SLOW. Entries on the day accepted, subject to entry limit not being reached, before 7.15 pm. Everyone (pre-entry or EOD) must visit registration to pay and/or collect their hired 'e-finger'.

 

PRIZES: Usual categories including women, juniors & veterans.  In the 6km race only women, juniors and super-veterans are eligible for prizes.  The more entries in advance we get, the more bottles of wine/beer will be given away. Prize-giving will take place between 8.30 pm and 9pm.
