We had an excellent turnout for homemade leek and potato soup (and hot mince pies) at the Trimble’s on the occasion of the SLOW Christmas party. Oh, and some people did the street score event as well! In fact almost 20 people ran, about the best turn out we have had a street event for a long time. Thanks to Susannah Trimble for most of the catering. Well done to Don, who may not be the fastest in the forest but is becoming the King of street events with yet another win.
Ed ran fast and managed to bag all 36 controls scoring a maximum of 550 points. Unfortunately the harsh penalty system of 20 penalty points for every minute late over the 60 minute mark meant that his 81 minute time earned him a penalty of 470 points dropping him down to last. Never mind everyone had fun running round Tolworth in the dark, trying to work out the colour of ever changing fibre optic trees or find inflatable snowmen.
Our next street event is on January 11th at the Catmurs, (73 Claygate Lane, Hinchley Wood) Starts between 7pm and 8pm. Send an email to Ginny ( ) just before the event if you intend coming. For further details of the SLOW street events also see here.
