At these events we aim to have the Club tent for changing, coaching, banter etc.  SLOW can also offer transport from south west London.  For this we suggest start times from 11.00-12.00 for events requiring pre-entry.  We intend to meet afterwards for a drink at a nearby pub and will list below if known. Otherwise, see us at the event to find out where were going.


2nd January            SN National Event 1. Ash Ranges, Aldershot.

Area consists of a mix of open heath land, mainly heather, and some mature forest.  There are a number of steep ridges with intricate contour detail. CD: 13/12/04. Limited EOD for age class courses. Unlimited CC: Y to LG. Pub: The Swan, 2 Hutton Road.


3rd January            SLOW Trail Challenge, Wimbledon Common.

Several checkpoints define the courses which are run over tracks and trails.

Mass starts 10k: 11.00am /6k: 11.10am & 2K Mini for juniors: 10.45am.  CD: 24/12/04 or EOD available.  Pub: The Fox and Grapes, Camp Road.


23rd January                   BKO Concorde Chase, Lower Star Posts, Camberley.

A mixture of runnable heath, coniferous and deciduous woods, with plenty of contour features but no large hills. CD: 04/01/05. Limited EOD for age class courses.  Unlimited EOD for CC: W to LG.  Pub: To be announced.


13th February         SLOW SE Score Champs, Holmwood Common.

1 hour or 40 minutes score course.  Collect as many controls as you can within the time limit.  Penalties per minute late.  All EOD. Also Yellow and string courses.

27th February        MV Compass Sport Cup, Banstead.

Inter-club competition.  South-east round.  New scoring system designed so that more competitors (25) count towards their clubs score.  Pub: The Blue Ball, Walton On The Hill.


5-6th March           SLOW Training Weekend, South Wales.

This years British Champs are on sand dunes in Devon and in preparation, this training weekend is on similarly challenging terrain in South Wales on the Gower peninsula. Learn sand dune techniques on Saturday and compete in an event on the Sunday.  Also possible night event for the extra energetic.


13th March             TVOC National Event 2, Hambledon Woods, Henley-on-Thames.

Fast runnable Chiltern woodlands.  Moderate amount of climb.

CD: 20/02/05.  Limited late entries. No EOD.  CC EOD only.  Pub: The Queens Head, 30 Duke Street, Henley on Thames


26-28th March       JK, Midlands.

Day 1: Brown Clee, Ludlow. Day 2: Cannock Chase. Day 3: Relays Hopwas, Tamworth.

Last CD: 18/03/04.  Peter Huzan will be co-ordinating entries for the Relays.  Contact him if you would like to run .  There is an event campsite at which some SLOW members will be staying.
