Explanation of Event Types
· Score: visit as many checkpoints as possible in a set time, usually one hour
· Trail Challenge: mass start race run over tracks and trails. Course lengths: 6km and 10km. The navigation is very straigtforward and the challenge arises from choosing the fastest route between the checkpoints. It is best to pre-enter for these.
· Medium Race: estimated winning time of 25 minutes
· Sprint Race: shorter races with an estimated winning time of 15 minutes
· Frolic: includes various lengths of courses, with series team handicap competition
Another series of summer evening events is organised by Southern Navigators and takes place around Guildford and Aldershot.
